Bolivia 2007 Dear friend,
Thank you for your interest in the 2007 Bolivian adventure. The 2007 team will be the 14th Minneapolis team to visit Trinidad-Beni, Bolivia. The heart of our visit is the work at La Palmera Christian Cultural Center. Please view the 2006 video presentation for a sampling of what the work looks like and typical team experiences.
In Luke 10 we read that Jesus rejoiced in spirit when His disciples returned from their first mission trip, and it is our deepest desire to continue to cause Jesus to rejoice in spirit. The 2007 Bolivia trip is an opportunity to do just that, cause Jesus to rejoice in spirit. We believe this is done best by pouring ourselves out like wine (joy) through hard work, teaching, interaction with children, parents, staff and the entire community, and sharing of our gifts and talents. In God's economy we find that what we give in time, talent and treasure is always given back in abundance (Luke 6.38-39). And this does cause the Lord to rejoice.
The first step to become involved is to prayerfully seek the Lord's guidance. If you sense His gentle voice saying, "This is the way, walk in it", download and fill out the application and set up an interview with any of the team leaders. Of course it is always good to speak with your pastor / elders before making a decision to travel to a distant land, and we encourage you to do so.
Also note the Team Covenant. It presents the values and guidelines for becoming part of the team. Please download, review and sign the Team Covenant along with your application. Because we represent the Lord Jesus, we're His ambassador, our conduct as a team is visible to all and vital to our objective of glorifying Him.
A cost estimate and payment schedule are available for download along with a sample packing list, example of a typical day's work, sample prayer card and a sample support letter. Also a task list is available to help guide you through the preparation process.
Again, thank you for your interest and we look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,

Dan & Shelly Houghton |
